MULTI PURPOSE HEALTH PROGRAM


Itinda Community Development Society implemented an important health programme for the remote people under Patharpratima Block at Sundarban area infinancial assistance with Swastha Bhawan, Government of West Bengal .The main objectives of the project were the low cost health services for the general people who are generally deprived by the general health facilities. There the unit was gave the health services by providing the low cost medicines and free medical consultancies. Keeping this in view, we the members along with the medical groups were gave different type of medical services among the area people. There was about 1250 nos families and 6000 population were benefited by this project. Two medical officer and two qualified nurses along with the health workers were engaged with this programme.It is mentionable that the project actually was started from 2010 and duration was 3 years.


JUVENILE HOME FOR BOYS(CNCP BOYS)


This is the only home for CNCP boys in Bagnan-I&II and Shyampur I& II Blocks of Howrah district. Hearing been pleased at the noble performance of ICDS ,director of social welfare Govt. of West Bengal has been pleased to grant license to ICDS for running Juvenile Home in the year 2014. Mrs. Kakali Mondal’s overall supervision in running home is commendable and draws the attention of both state and district administration. Now we are give up in details about the program :-

  • 2. Place of operation : Vill-Bhooyarah , p.o-Mugkalyan,Dist-Howrah,pin-711312
  • 3. Date of initiation : January ,2014.
  • 4. Permissible capacity-100 nos children.
  • 5. Undertaking philosophy of the program .
    The philosophy of the J.J Act 2015 and program is to consolidate and amend the law relating to Juvenile in conflict with law and children in need care and protection by making proper arrangement of proper care &protection and treatment by adapting a child friendly approach in the adjudication and disposition of matters in the but interest of children and for their ultimate rehabilitation and main streaming .
  • 6. Constitution and of a managing committee for child care institution under J.J Act 2015 like previous year 2020-21.
  • 7. Role of managing committee will consider and review in respect of care and protection of children as per J.J Act 2015 every month.
  • 8. The children committee of child care institution (ICDS)is looking after the following conditions of home as follows. Like last year 2020-21
  • 9. Besides the aforesaid committee:-
    A food committee has been formed under the close supervision of Superintendent of home consisting of three ages group of children member to decide daily food with nutrition review and get feed back from the other inmates.
  • 10. Health check up of home inmates:-
    Weekend health checks up of every inmate of home are being conducted by qualified Medical practitioners and RBSK team.
  • 11. Repatriation during the year 2021-22:-
    We have been able to repatriate 13 children by the order of Child Welfare Committee and with achieve involvement of police and enforcement authority.
  • 12.Restoration of inmates:-
    ICDS also intends to find out the families of inmates through counseling process and tried to give back them to their families.It is a time consuming process. We have restored 2022 children up to Dec - 2022.
  • 13. Counseling of inmates & restoration:-
    Adequate counseling of each inmates is being conducted by our counselor to know the address ,particulars of Guarding,father&mother so that we may give back them to their own home . Under this process ,we have been able to restore inmates to their homes as well as We regularly contact their families to have the recent status.The following table will depict the vivid picture of restoration and reparations with the help of Police,CWO.
  • 14. Need assessment Under this process :-
    We also try to access the particular needs of each estimates by completely different methods of assessment .After as certain the needs,we adopt positive steps in this regard.
  • 15. Education :-
    We arrange formal and non formal education of a inmates according to their wells and capabilities .As a result ,we have been able to obtain desired results.
  • 16. Admission to Govt. School :-
    We also take adequate steps to admit the willing inmates( having no permanent address) to Govt. School for carrying on education. Under this process,we have been able to admit inmates into Govt.school for getting formal education .
  • 17. Mainstreaming of Inmates :-
    The mission of our J.J home is to arrange all round development of estimates of our through main streaming with this objective in view .We have been conducting vocational training in different trades such as tailoring ,soft toys making ,handicraft and jute diversified products for last 15 years.Under this system,we have been able to stand estimates into their own foot through self employment.Besides running the J.J home ,we organized awareness generation camp on burning and observed the auspicious days with profound respect as follows:-

    • 1) Awareness & workshop on child rights:-
      We organized awareness camp and workshop on child rights involving administrative officials staffs and all the estimates.The objects of the program is to aware our inmates about the rights and amenities provided to children & inmates under different legislations or acts.
    • 2) COVID awareness program:-
      We organized two Covid awareness camp in our homes at 6month internal to keep aware our inmates about the dreadful outcome of covid with the help of our staffs and management .88 estimates and 8 staffs participated in these programs.
    • Celebration of Auspicious days :-

      • a) Rabindranath Tagore’s birth day :-
        We observed the birth day of noble prize winner great poet Rabindranath Tagore on 25 th Baisak(9 th May,2021) with profound respect.We arranged song of Rabindranath Tagore we dance,recitations and sit & draw competition on that day.All the staffs and estimates participated in the program.
      • b) Independence day Celebration :- We celebrated Independence Day at our home with the Hoisting of flag by our Honourable secretary with the Bandamataram chorus. Secretary ,President, Superintendent of Home and other guests discussed in details about the significance of Independence day in the present context.Secretary distributed fruits& sweets among the children of home.
      • c) Rakhi Bandhan Utsav :-
        To strengthen the bonding of love and create friendly among children .We observed Rakhi Bandhan Utsav with great involving all of our estimates and local girls
      • d) X-Mas Day Celebration :-
        We celebrate the great X-mas day(the birth day of Jesus Christ with due respect through interreligious prayer by GBMS, BCMS staffs & inmates.Secretary distributed cakes,sweets& fruits among the inmates of Home.
      • e) Republic Day Celebration :-
        We observed 71 th Republic Day with profound respect by Hosting National Flag by our Honorable President.President, Secretary and other staffs of Home discuss in details about the importance of observance of this day.All took an oath to protect Indian severgents at any cost .
      • f)Netaji’s Birth Day Celebration :-
        We celebrated the 125 th birth day of greatpatriot & freedom fighter with profound respect involving all our inmates,Governing body members and staffs .secretary hoisted National Flag on that occasion .She described in brief about his patriotism and freedom movement.
    • 4) Saraswati Puja :-
      We arranged Saraswati Puja in our J.J home to give nourishment and joy to our disturbed and deserted inmates .We provided special food with sweets and fruits to all our estimates.
